Kate Daniels returns to fight the Supernaturals

When her friend is almost killed, things take on a whole new meaning to Kate…

By John Irvin

After finishing up the sequel in the Kate Daniels series, I immediately ran to my local BooksAMillion bookstore and bought book three, Magic Strikes.

Knowing what to expect (by the way, that’s pure awesomeness), I started reading and found myself yanked back into the Post-Shift world of Atlanta, Georgia.

Kate and Curran are still going back and forth, but something’s developing there.

I was gripping the corners of the book as I tensely held on for the ride.

If you’ve started the Kate Daniels series, you will not want to miss out on this third installment.

If you haven’t started the Kate Daniels series, what’s wrong with you? Just teasing, but, seriously, you need to start collecting this series like I did.

Now that I’ve read all ten books, I feel like I’m experience in the Post-Shift Magic world and close friends with the heroine and hero.

You can be too.

Here’s the link:

MAGIC STRIKES by ILONA ANDREWS.

Since I’m sharing the links with Amazon, I want to give their book description:

When magic strikes and Atlanta goes to pieces, it’s a job for mercenary Kate Daniels in this thrilling novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Drafted into working for the Order of Merciful Aid, mercenary Kate Daniels has more paranormal problems than she knows what to do with these days. And in Atlanta, where magic comes and goes like the tide, that’s saying a lot.

But when Kate’s werewolf friend Derek is discovered nearly dead, she must confront her greatest challenge yet. As her investigation leads her to the Midnight Games—an invitation only, no holds barred, ultimate preternatural fighting tournament—she and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, uncover a dark plot that may forever alter the face of Atlanta’s shapeshifting community…”

Do NOT miss out on the urban fantasy thriller: MAGIC STRIKES.

Werewolves are Not the Only Supernaturals!

When Elena Michaels discovers her belief that witches, sorcerers, vampires, and half-demons do not exit is false, she’s in trouble

By John Irvin

Have you ever seen the show, Bitten? Your in a dark fantasy world where werewolves are real. There’s a unique twist to the story: Elena is the ONLY female werewolf.

But, having watched the first season of the show, I did not know the world had other supernaturals in it. So when I picked up Book 2, Stolen, I was in for a real surprise.

It’s a good surprise.

I like supernatural stories.

Though, werewolves or related creatures are still my favorite of them all.

Elena didn’t believe the others existed either, until she’s captured and held in a prison with vampires, sorcerers, witches, and other kinds!

You’re going to want to join in the intense action and paranormal mystery of this book, believe me!

Here’s the link:

STOLEN by KELLEY ARMSTRONG.

Since I’m sharing the links with Amazon, I want to give their book description:

“Elena Michaels is back—and she has company. When a young witch tells Elena that a group of humans are kidnapping supernaturals, Elena ignores the warning. After all, everyone knows there’s no such thing as witches. As for the thought of other ‘supernaturals’, well, she’d just rather not dwell on the possibility. Soon, however, she’s confronted with the truth about her world, when she’s kidnapped and thrown into a cell-block with witches, sorcerers, half-demons and other werewolves. As Elena soon discovers, dealing with her fellow captives is the least of her worries. In this prison, the real monsters carry the keys.

Lending a mission of vampires, demons, shamans, and witches, Elena is lured into the net of ruthless Internet billionaire Tyrone Winsloe, who is well on his way to amassing a private collection of supernaturals. He plans to harness their powers for himself—even if it means killing them.

For Elena, kidnapped and imprisoned deep underground, unable to tell her friends from her enemies, choosing the right allies is a matter of life and death.”

Do NOT miss out on the mysterious magic: STOLEN.

You know the Greeks, but do you know the Romans?

While Percy Jackson leads the Greek demigods, Jason leads the Romans

By John Irvin

When I discovered there was a spin-off series from my all-time favorite series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, you know I had to try it out.

I saw The Lost Hero and snatched it up.

Would Rick Riordan keep his theme of making me fall in love with the characters? Would I become best buds with these demigods who tramped across the world, fulfilling prophecies and such?

I’m so happy I bought the entire series.

I think I actually finished all five books within a month.

This one here, the introduction to the new phase, will introduce you to some pretty fantastic young people who have no idea about Camp Half-Blood.

You won’t want to miss out on this fantastic surprise twist of a first installment!

Here’s the link:

THE LOST HERO by RICK RIORDAN.

Since I’m sharing the links with Amazon, I want to give their book description:

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea-except that everything seems very wrong.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he’s in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?

Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all-including Leo-related to a god.

Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson series, pumps up the action and suspense in The Lost Hero, the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series. Fans of demi-gods, prophesies, and quests will be left breathless–and panting for Book Two.”

Do NOT miss out on the mystery and majesty of this book: THE LOST HERO.

Grant Burrows is at it again!

In the blink of an eye, he’s become the most powerful man on the planet, but does that really take away his fear?

By John Irvin

After the gut-wrenching ending to the first book, it was hard not to pick up this second one, Fearless, to see how Grant was able to continue on.

I’m trying not to give spoilers away here.

I was not disappointed with the continuation of this trilogy and definitely would not have it listed here as a favorite read if I did not like it.

The mysterious revelations of ancient cults and rituals is intriguing, the action is stupendous, and the “superhero” powers are great.

Please don’t miss out on Parrish’s fantasy Sci-Fi apocalyptic story of biblical proportions!

You just might be, too, so grab the sequel here:

FEARLESS by ROBIN PARRISH.

Goodreads gives this description:

“The world changed after that terrible day when the sky burned, and now every heart is gripped by fear Earthquakes, fire, disease, and floods pummel the earth, and its citizens watch in horror. But in the darkness there is hope–an anonymous but powerful hero whom the public dubs “Guardian” emerges from the wreckage. He is Grant Borrows, one a chosen few who walk the earth with extraordinary powers. They travel the globe, helping those in deepest peril and determined to uncover the secret behind this world-shattering cataclysm. But when signs of a dangerous ancient prophecy begin coming true, dark questions arise about secrets Grant might still be harboring. The world teeters on the brink. But some refuse to let it fall. They are: Fearless.”

So, whatever you do today, make sure you grab this book: FEARLESS!

After the Fifth Wave, it’s an Infinite Sea!

Cassie and her team are staving off all the crazy attacks while the 5th Wave continues…

By John Irvin

I’ve read the first book and already promoted it a few weeks ago. I’ve now read the second installment and am still enjoying this treacherous journey of Cassie and everyone else.

It’s a young adult sci-fi. Maybe you’ve seen the movie? Make sure you don’t miss out on reading the trilogy. The movie—with no sequel yet—has so many questions left unanswered.

With Infinite Sea, things are falling into place as the resistance attempts to hold of the onslaught after onslaught of the alien conquerors.

I’m finally understanding things I was confused about when watching the movie.

Do you think you could outlast five deadly waves that have wiped out the human population on Earth almost completely?

You just might be too, so grab the sequel here:

THE INFINITE SEA by RICK YANCEY.

This is what Amazon has for its description,

“How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.”

So, whatever you do today, make sure you grab this book: THE INFINITE SEA!
