There are countless legends about them, but no one believes they’re real, until one day, this Soldier in Grey finds her.

The first book in a novella trilogy, I wrote Discovery several years ago. It’s hard to believe that was back in 2016! Where does the time go.

I didn’t exactly know where the story was going when I started the first draft. I was surprised it took place during the 1860s and that dark and bloody time. Yet, it didn’t really have anything to do with the period.

One man, pressed into serving a cause he’s still not sure he believes in, is shipped to Ft. McCree near Pensacola, Florida during the onslaught of the invasion.

But, as history has accounted for us, the Fort is already doomed.

He discovers that Mermaids are real. There’s something about this brunette woman of the sea, it’s nothing evil.

Everything about her is simple and pure and untouched by mankind’s hatred and corruption.

He has a choice, she gives it to him.

Depending on his decision, this trilogy could begin or end with him. I’ll let you figure that one out.

Make sure you order this first book in the Mermaid Seas trilogy.

And make sure you tune back in tomorrow for the second installment, Forecast. Several generations later, an English History teacher uncovers a massive secret that blows his “normal” life out of the water…or is that into the water.

When Push Comes to Shove, would you join a Conspiracy Plot?

The North American War has been in an uneasy ceasefire for awhile, it must come to an end.

This is my 200th Blog Post!

This is the final volume in the Shattered Saga. The North American War is moving on like a slug in molasses.

There’s a plot against the leaders of the Locke Republic, the Southern Federation, and the Texas Republic. Even the State of Jefferson is threatened over on the Pacific front.

So, all the heroes from the past few books join together in a secret conspiracy of their own.

Will they be able to pull it off?

A question hanging over all their heads, will they be able to do what they have to in bringing this exhaustive war to a close?

Will victory finally be theirs?

By the way, there are secession movements in the American Union and they’re put themselves in league with the southern patriots.

This last installment was a hoot and a holler to write, you might say. Bringing everybody together—some had never met each other—was a party. I was also able to use my favourites again.

When we infiltrated the enemy lines, it was intense. I wasn’t exactly sure what was going to happen. I knew there had to be a victory, but I didn’t know how we would get there.

If you want to know how we pulled it off, make sure you order yourself a copy at the link provided below.

If you enjoy it, please leave a review on the Amazon page. I really want to hear your feedback so I can know where I’m headed with my future books.

Oh, some pretty cool news, I didn’t realise until now, today marks my 200th blog post. It’s been quite a trip, y’all. From starting out with book reviews from my reading to my own books to stories and thoughts I contemplate daily as an author.

And now, to this 90-Day Author’s Assault. There is no telling where we’ll end up after this campaign is through.

So…happy Bicentennial! ;-D

Tune in tomorrow to catch the latest news from my author journey.

North America’s tentative peace is Shattered

When the Locke Republic’s President is kidnapped, all hell breaks loose along the Southern and Pacific regions of the continent.

Several years have passed since the events of volume 2. A new President has been in charge. But, on their Independence Day, Sam Turnover and the rest of his Lockians are shocked when a bomb goes off and the President is nowhere to be found.

Thus, the North American War is sparked and all freedom-loving nations must withstand the attacks and invasions of the Washington Empire and the American Union.

Who will win this round?

How will the events of the North American War transform the lives of our heroes?

Also, there’s a new President of the Southern Federation, a friend of Sam’s and a fiery redhead when her homeland is threatened by obnoxious tyrants.

You might recall a few months back, I did an interview with President Emily Morgan. She is a favourite of mine among the heroes in this series.

Don’t tell anyone else though. It’ll be our secret. But the plan is to marry her before the decade is over.

Yes, I know, I’m crazy.

Anyways, make sure you click through this link below to order this fourth installment in the five-part political drama.

If you enjoy it, please leave a review on the Amazon page. I really want to hear your feedback so I can know where I’m headed with my future books.

When Governments don’t know when to Stop

The new nations are rising up from the ashes of the former US Empire, but there are those who still wish to reassert their former glory.

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

Continuing on in the Shattered Chronicles—or Shattered Saga, however you want to call it.

This is the third installment in the five volume series about the North American War. From the remains of the dissolved United States, new nations were born.

Leading the advancement, the Locke Republic took control of itself and gained a nation founded on freedom and self-determination.

The Southern Federation and the Texas Republic followed soon after.

Soon the plains people formed a loose federation called the Rocky Mountain Alliance.

After having sought freedom and independence for over a hundred years, the State of Jefferson is finally able to take to the Pacific stage.

But, not unopposed. Mexico now controlling the territory to their south has now amended their relations with these new nations and become a strong ally against the Washington Empire and the American Union.

The American Union’s capital is St. Louis and its dictator is the former Senator Derick Banks of the US Senate. Now he is the ruthless leader of the two-party faction attempting to regain control of the continent.

Ted Valington was the former Vice-President of the US, he now runs the Washington Empire on the coast and tries to assert his dominion over the State of Jefferson as well as lost territories of Canada.

In their eyes, all upstart patriot movements and independent “regimes” are terrorists and anarchists.

But, are those who defy the old empire truly anarchists? Or are they simply patriots who would rather change a flag if it meant freedom and prosperity for their families?

A very controversial volume, I know, but this is just a different take I decided to explore into a fictional history for these North American States.

Could we all do better if we sat down like adults and decided to respect our differences and stop attempting to force our own political beliefs down each other’s throats every single pseudo-election?

Anyhoo, check the book page below!

Taking a Break from the Book Trailers

I just want to pause and breathe for a moment and chat a little bit of what I’ve covered and what’s coming.

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

Now that I’ve reached the twenty-second book with my trailers and brief blog discussions, I want to breathe for a minute and chat with you.

It’s been a few weeks now.

I’ve covered several series and already in the middle of another.

From the StarQuest Anthology to the Magic’s Time Split series to the Longevity and Shattered series, I’ve also promoted a few stand-alones like Even When We’re Ghosts, Can’t Help Falling, and All the Reasons Why.

There are still a couple more weeks to go.

Can you believe that?

Wait, you say, a couple more weeks? I thought we were doing this for 90 days?

I’m glad you asked that question.

We are, but I only have thirty-three books to promote.

So what am I going to do after they’ve all been given their time in the spotlight, I’m turning to a few author friends who’ve been willing to work with me and share some videos of their own promoting their books.

I’ll also go back to giving some reviews on books I’ve read in the past and using that as an Amazon affiliate.

If you love everything that has to do with books, keep tuned in by signing up for my Friday newsletter and subscribing to my YouTube channel!

Don’t miss any of these goodies I’ll be sharing.

Texas is Its own Nation again, but there’s a Threat!

Can Mark Bennington keep the citizenry satisfied? Can he stave off the invasion of his nation to the south?

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

Mark Bennington is the Governor of the Great State of Texas. Thanks to the Black Out and the ensuing civil unrest, he had to extend his term and the people aren’t happy.

Over in Georgia—or what’s left of it—Steve, Sara, and Alex are in a scurry to get out of their neighbourhood now under the reign of violent gangs. They’re planning to head to the Locke Republic, but along the way, they meet Max Norren who has started a resistance and is seeking, what he calls, the Southern Federation.

Will these wars bring the end of the survivors? Will they mean the beginning of something good or evil? Will freedom be returned to the people?

Can order be restored among these sprawling new nations?

It’s amazing how life can make its quick twists and turns.

One minute you’re a member of a city council, the next, you’re running for your life. The next moment, you could be leading a garrison of order-seeking patriots against gangs on your home city’s streets.

Even after that, you could be running for the presidency of a whole new nation!

Yes, a lot goes on in this second installment to my Shattered series.

I must say, I really enjoyed bringing the North American War and its preceding events to life. Although, I’m beginning to wonder if some of it is an unexpected prediction.

Maybe, I need to go back into this series and listen to what my characters were telling me? Maybe, I need to learn from these people I created!

Maybe you should, too.
