When You Come across a City Planet and They are Friendly

Johan Eryn and his teammates are greeted with warmth and friendship by the ruling class of this planet, but not all is as safe as it seems.

I hope you enjoy these little trailers I’ve made for each of my books. Today is about StarQuest: Epix. It is the second prequel to the Novel.

The Anthology is going to grow more, but for now, StarQuest has these three stories: the Novel, Forgetfulness (check yesterday’s post), and Epix!

Johan Eryn and his task force command arrive at a new planet completely made into a huge city. Everything is super-proportional to what they’re used to.

But, even with how advanced they are, old ties to ancient religions are still prevalent. For instance, there’s the moons revolving around the city-planet. These were once worshiped as gods.

The ruler of the world welcomes the travellers into his palace. As a sign of their new-found friendship, he orders an update for the USS Patriot.

But not all things are good. There is a threat to the planet’s existence.

It’s not coming from where you’d think.

Can the patriot travellers help their new allies? Can they save the planet from being wiped out? Are they worthy of the over-sized gift given them?

Make sure you order yourself a copy so you can read and find out!

That’s all for the StarQuest Anthology…for now.

Tomorrow, I’ll be promoting one of my flagship series. Presently I have the first two books published and printing well. The third book is published, but there was an issue with the interior so I have to wait for that to be fixed.

Forgive me for that. So, because of that, I will only promote the first two books. These ones are in print as well.

In fact, they are in hardcover, paperback, and e-book!

Thank you for stopping by today!

While you’re here, you can click through the GoFundMe link on my Home page and donate to the upcoming Spring 2021 Toward the Pacific Book Tour!

Continuing the Galactic Freedom Fighting Anthology

Yes, my StarQuest world is becoming an Anthology—this means, there are more stories to come set in this galaxy!

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

Yesterday, we talked about my very first novel. But, what I did mention at the start of that blog, StarQuest was originally intended to be a novella series. After writing seven books in that series while in college, I left off for a couple years.

When I returned, I wasn’t satisfied using the novella series. So I decided to conglomerate a couple of them into what is now the first novel.

But, I did decide to add a couple of those novellas as ebooks in the Anthology.

So, Forgetfulness was published. This takes place before the Novel’s setting. You could call it a prequel, I guess.

Johan Eryn’s team cannot remember who they are.

Hanna is the main character of this short book. Something is off and she knows it. Deep down, she knows her name is Hanna. Deep down, she knows she is friends with the royal guards even though they don’t recognise her.

It’s not until she goes deep down into the dungeons to feed the prisoners that she finds out her suspicions are correct.

It’s Josh Middre, only, not the one in her universe. This one has crossed over from somewhere else.

What are all these secrets? What happened to their team? Will they be able to re-discover their true personalities?

Will they be able to escape the slavery of this world?

Order the book and you’ll find out. While you’re here, you can click through the GoFundMe link on my Home page and donate to the upcoming Spring 2021 Toward the Pacific Book Tour!

And if you know any authors, please, have them shoot me an email at john@johnirvinauthor.com. I have plenty of spots open for the episodes!

First Official Episode brings the First Official Published Book

I bring to you StarQuest, my first officially published book. It’s only fitting I promote this favourite of mine first!

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

Way back in college, my freshman year, I started writing this novella series called StarQuest. I discovered—at the time—there was no other series by that name.

I had my favourites: StarGate and StarWars. There was also StarTrek and Starship Troopers. But no StarQuest.

The idea was a team of freedom fighters fight a war to reclaim liberty in America—a friend told me it was a unique niche of its own: political science fiction. So they build a spaceship and go in search of a new world to establish a new country.

Only, they discover, there are hundreds of planets in our galaxy that were colonized by Earthlings thousands of years ago. Playing off the Christian theory of a Global Flood, it brings a new perspective to civilization back then.

According to my StarQuest series, in Pre-Flood times, space colonization was a thing. But, when a world leader died, we shut down interstellar travel for a week. Only, during that week, the Flood happened and all contact was cut off from our colonies.

Some extraterrestrial settlements sent scouts back to mother Earth and found it completely submerged in water. Thinking life on the planet was extinct, they never returned to visit and contact was erased for good.

          Until now.

In StarQuest the Novel, the freedom fighters are on their trip back to Earth to inform their leaders of all their discoveries and travels. It’s been a few years since their departure and their mission objective has changed.

The Milky Way Galaxy is under threat of an evil race seeking domination—naturally. The Clongoth are an evolved humanoid species from a dark and poisonous world called Clongo.

Along their way back home, Johan Eryn and his team stop by an old friend’s house on the planet Nitara. Only, after a long flashback, they find her to be kidnapped!

Will they be able to rescue the Queen of the Nitaran Tribes? Will they be able to return to Earth and bring their enemies to their knees? Will they be able to unite the Galaxy in a resistance against the Clongoth? Will they be able to win their independence?

Order the book and you’ll find out. While you’re here, you can click through the GoFundMe link on my Home page and donate to the upcoming Spring 2021 Toward the Pacific Book Tour!

And if you know any authors, please, have them shoot me an email at john@johnirvinauthor.com. I have plenty of spots open for the episodes!

Publishing More Books and Something New Approaching

You’re probably going to be tired of me or get to know me better and enjoy it…one or the other.

By John Irvin

These past couple of weeks I’ve been working on finishing up my Magic’s Time Split series—as you well know, if you’ve been following. By next week’s blog, I’ll be publishing the final book in that series.

Wait. Take a deep breath. Sigh.

Okay, then it’ll be moving on to new and exciting things. But, I’m not leaving them for good. I’ll be stopping by their corner over on their book page to share goodies with you over the next year and beyond.

It’s amazing how time flies. I feel like I just started this series, now I’m finishing up the tenth book and everything is finally coming together.

Part of me wants to take a break. But, the other part knows, that’s not possible. When I’ve finished this book, I’ll be returning to the Longevity world because there is still so much going on there.

I’d like to take this moment and ask forgiveness for the issue with Book 3, Wandering, in the Longevity series. It was not until after I approved it for print, publishing it on 3 October, 2020, that two weeks later Ingram Spark sent me an email, letting me know the interior hadn’t been fixed to fit the dimensions.

          Thanks.

I think my formatter is fired.

Anyhoo, maybe I’ll see if I can figure out how to actually format pdfs and that’ll, not only give me experience and another skill, but also cut down on the publishing costs. That $100—which depends on each book—could be used for something else!

Also, on top of finishing the Magic’s Time Split, I’ve been working on something else. It has to do with what I was originally going to set out to do when I started my YouTube channel, John Irvin, Author Journey Series, last year.

I’ve been feeling like I’ve been neglecting that channel these past few months. Well, not anymore. Don’t worry. Maybe another week and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I hope last week’s blog wasn’t offensive to anyone. The last thing I want to do is making someone angry or hurt someone else. But, my team and I have simply been wondering what on earth is not getting through to people? What about our GoFundMe Book Tour fundraiser is not resonating?

Are we doing something wrong? I mean, we have one person who has already given hundreds and then there’s a few who’ve given a fifty or a twenty or a ten. One friend even gave $200 in cash.

But, then, there’s those 2,000 plus people that I know on my social networks alone—this is not counting the rest of my team members and their networks.

Maybe there’s something else we should be doing? Maybe we’re not asking right.

We don’t know. All we do know is, we can ask. You have not because you ask not. So, we’re asking, please help us by joining our supporters and launching us to our goal so we can take this Toward the Pacific Book Tour in Spring 2021!

Crowdfunding is the New Way for New Business

We always go on about our success being about community, but then don’t help each other out…

By John Irvin

I recently dreamed a wealthy individual learned about my team’s GoFundMe fundraiser for the Toward the Pacific Book Tour Spring 2021 and donated $10,000 to it (which, by the way, is the total goal) and because he did that, several other people ended up jumping on the bandwagon and donating thousands.

Next thing I knew, my team no longer had enough to go on a simple cross-the-country book tour, but instead, we had enough to turn my debut book tour into a world book tour.

The artists on my team became famous like Picasso and Da Vinci, the actress joined the high ranks of Hollywood, and the country guys built cabins and started hunting reserves. Of course, I was reached my life’s dream, becoming a bestselling novelist.

If only life were as simple as dreams.

But, you know, then again, it could be. People always talk about community and helping each other rise to success. That’s what crowdfunding is all about. Ten people give ten dollars and you have a hundred dollars raised.

A thousand people give ten dollars and you have ten thousand.

We then lift each other up. If you have a dream I can support, I share it and give what I can. If my dream is successful and you helped me, I then, in turn, point people to you and invest in you until you’re successful. Then we both look for the next person to invest in and lift them up.

Before you know it, we’re all millionaires inspiring the next generation.

I’m going to be real and vulnerable with you.

I don’t see that among most of the circles I hang with.

Community Support!

No, sadly, the general rule seems to be: overload the person striving for success with so much advice they’re brains are reeling. But when that person tells you about their fundraiser, you ask every once in awhile how it’s doing and when they are honest, letting you know they’re struggling, you simply say things like, “Don’t give up. Other people are struggling, but keep going.” Instead of throwing a ten dollar bill at that person to actually help out.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate encouraging words as much as the next guy. But they don’t pay the bills.

I’d also like to point out, there are a few friends who have already donated and I know for certain they’re struggling financially just like me. Yet, I also know, if ten dollars is too much for you, then you really need to rethink your financial situation. I’ve given fifty to my own fundraiser and I’m the struggling author.

Yet, now, I’ve got my first books in a local brick-and-mortar bookstore and people are surprised while others aren’t. You really learn who believes in you when you climb your mountain.

I don’t know, people are just interesting. You have that one friend who gives several hundred dollars to your fundraiser, but you have all those other friends who don’t give a penny.

I know we’re all busy with our own lives and we forget about things—this is one reason I’m posting more and sharing more, because this dream has got to come true come Spring 2021.

I’ve been at this authorpreneur business for four years come December. I’ve published over thirty books now. I’ve built and re-built websites, I’ve built networks, lost them, and am building them again. I’ve tried almost every marketing plan I’ve read about that doesn’t cost money. I’ve ready countless books on how to sell books.

Some struggle, some simply refuse, we’re all humans.

I know, it’s ONLY four years, you say. Yes, I’m selling more copies than I did at the beginning. But still, I’m finding a hug gap between my position and my dreams. I look out among my circles and see friends who have dreams of their own, knowing deep in my heart I want so much to help them. But I’m unable to…yet.

So, please, if you’ve read this far, I appreciate your willingness to bare through all this mess and these raw emotions. I’m not angry at anyone. I really hope this blog didn’t come out sounding like I am.

People have been telling me to open up more, be more vulnerable. I guess, what I’m trying to say is: I need you. We need you. My team and I need your support. We can’t do this on our own. No one can achieve success on their own.

I know this year has been insane, but every year has its insanity. Why not start this holiday season, giving to a community fundraiser? Maybe giving more support this Autumn-Winter time, we’ll be able to usher in a brighter and more successful New Year?

So, if you can spare ten dollars—or maybe even a little more—please click through this link and join our awesome and amazing supporters in lifting us up so we can, in turn, lift others up!

Back on Track with the Authorpreneur Life

It’s a beautiful morning and I’m getting to do what I enjoy most!

Back on top of the stack!

By John Irvin

Finally, back on track with the author life, writing away, editing away, and publishing tomorrow!

Book 7, The World Burns, in my Magic’s Time Split series brings us back to the Deadlands where Jenna and Gael discovered zombies are real. Only, this South American continent is transforming into something totally different.

There’s an Ifrit—not your every day friendly wish-granting genie—more zombies, and other new creatures introduced in this new installation of the series.

Even more exciting news, I get to publish the consecutive books on a weekly basis this month—can you believe it’s already October? So I’ll be finished with the Magic’s Time Split realm in four weeks. Such a bittersweet thought. But, I’m finally ready to move on to the next world!

My plans for the rest of the year? I’ll be returning to the Longevity series while also considering a few stand-alone novellas that have been waiting to be published this year. They’re only missing their cover art.

          We’ll see how things go.

I’d like to share two of them: Unexpected Friends and Bringing Him Back. One is about a werewolf and a mermaid and the other is about a woman on the quest to resurrect her husband in a paranormal city.

Yes, I know, sounds out there, right?

This is one of the things I enjoy doing: sharing some of my most far-fetched imaginations with you, my wonderful readers.

As you know, if you’ve been keeping up with my posts, I’ve switched my Patreon account to a tip-giving basis. There are some people out there who enjoy helping artists out and don’t want rewards. So, if you’d like to start giving a dollar a month, that would be so appreciated! But, you don’t have to.

It’s just there for anyone who wants to: Click Here!

The coming months have so many things!

Now, another thing I’ll be working on with my author career for the next month or two is I’m switching up my YouTube channel again. I’ll be returning to a daily episode posting. So these next several weeks will be crammed with my stocking up on videos. I want to have a stash before committing to this.

I’m also considering taking a break from fiction writing and finishing a nonfiction ebook I started last year. It’s called, Paranormal Passions: How to Write with Ghosts, Vampires, and Werewolves.

I figured, now that I have more than thirty published books under my belt, it’s time to start giving back and helping those younger aspiring writers out there. So, the idea is to have this book out there for free while also offering a writing webinar.

Now, don’t hold me to this, it’s only been bouncing back and forth inside my brain along with the gazillion other ideas in there.

I’ll have to research and study how to design the best webinar as I don’t want to waste anyone’s time or money. That’s being a thief and I hate thieves.

So there’s just a couple of the hundreds of ideas I’d like to make reality this coming season. It’ll be Christmas before we know it and I have no holiday stories planned for publication this year—sorry if you feel like I’m cheating you.

Oh, the other point before I close today. GoFundMe fundraiser for the Toward the Pacific Spring 2021 Book Tour. Yes, I’m going to keep bring this up until we’ve reached our goal. Please, join our supporters and help my team raise what we need. Help us make this dream come true!

Have a great life, see ya next week.
