When the Black Out happens, the Old World is No More

Sam Turnover is a member of a network that’s been prepared for when the power grid goes down.

This is the first installment of my Shattered series. I’ve come to call the genre a political drama.

A solar flare knocks out the power grid. There’s a chain reaction in a nuclear facility that blows up the entire northeastern seaboard, sending Washington, D.C., to kingdom come.

In the wake of this devastation, a neighbourhood network asserts its authority over the couple of streets on which its members reside.

Naturally, the military and violent gangs attempt to overrun it, but the people stick together and fend off the invaders.

Samuel Turnover is second-in-command of the network and discusses with his leader plans to form a new nation.

Will it go through? Can there really be new nations, free and independent, on the North American continent?

Is the United States of America gone for good?

This series consists of five short novellas and they were actually sparked from a pseudo-future-history article I wrote.

I wrote the article as if I were a historian in the future relating the events of the Black Out the following North American War. Then, friends told me I should write the actually series.

So I did.

Welcome to volume 1, Collapse. Come join my characters as they play a major role in the history of this western hemisphere.

The Beginning of a Royal Line

This high fantasy is the first novella in an old series about a family’s generations…

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

I wrote and published this book years ago, hard to believe. Since then, I’ll be open, I haven’t given it much promotion. That’s more a problem with my focusing on the next project then the next one after that and not giving each book its needed attention after publication.

I published it and decided, if it does well, I’ll write the next several books and publish them.

Well, it’s only sold a few copies and that’s my fault.

So, I’m trying to make up for that today with the book trailer above and this short discussion.

Wilyon is a Clan Chieftain in the nation of Lykaenia. The nation is a very loose territory with pockets of clans being ruled by their on Chiefs. Lykaenia has no sense of itself at the moment.

But, the question proposed to Wilyon has him stumbling through the wilderness contemplating a future for the young nation.

With an invader on their northern border, the Lykaenian council recognises their need for a strong national government and they want a king.

Can Wilyon accept the new crown? Can he begin a new era for his nation? Can he lead his peoples in defense of the kingdom against the invaders?

Depending on the outcome of this story, a dynasty could be formed for Lykaenia.

This story does not take place on the planet Earth by the way.

Each book is planned to bring a new generation onto the stage. Wilyon’s descendents take on the family name of Restour. If you read this book and like it, maybe you’ll find out why they choose that name.

The Fires are Gone, a New World is Here

The Immortals are now discovering this strange new world, how will the combat the new evils?

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

After the hellish conflicts from the last book, are you ready for a break?

Do you think Gael, Jenna, Jessica, and Levi are too? They’re home again, been back for a decade since the conflict with the burning Deadlands and the creation of a new continent.

But, now, upon a chance visit to their Zerzuran Mansion, they discover there’s a new cult in town and, possibly, a new deity.

Who is this false god no one has ever heard of before, but so many are ready to worship him—even kill in his name?

There are two cities on this new continent, named after ancient mythic cities, they’re following in their namesake’s footsteps.

Prosperity and peace are all they’ve known, but naturally, nothing good can last, right?

If you’ve been following along with this series, you’ll know this is the eighth installment to my dark fantasy series set in an alternate historical timeline ruled by Magic instead of Tech.

After a War with the Giants, our Immortals are back in the Deadlands

This dark fantasy series in my Magic-rule Timeline is coming along as our Immortals have to uncover a dark secret in the burning Deadlands.

By John Irvin

Can you believe we’ve already passed the sixteenth episode in this 90-Day Author’s Assault?

Oh, but good news, you still have a lot more to see of me!

Today’s trailer and blog is about the seventh installment in my alternate-timeline, historical magic fantasy series. Things have taken a turn for the worse.

Our four Immortals rejoin Sir Iden Falconmist and his Guardian Knights of the Irish Fae on their quest to reclaim all the missing pieces of the Faerie Royal Sceptre of Life.

The next fragment is located in what used to be the South American Amazon River. Now this arid desert world called the Deadlands—because of its undead claim by the former Zombie Apocalypse—is burning to high heaven.

What’s making it burn?

There are clues during a zombie attack late in the night.

Someone or something is controlling the undead minds, giving them more tactics, and lighting the world on fire.

Can the Immortals save the world again? Can they defeat this new foe? Can they ever return home?

A Montana Romance with the Guy playing Hard to Get

I mean, why would you play hard to get when a gorgeous girl throws herself at you?

By John Irvin

Today’s trailer can be found through this link to my YouTube channel! Click through to watch the short little reel.

I’m just kidding above, the girl doesn’t throw herself at the guy. It’s more, she sees it, their mutual friends see it, but he refuses to see it because he’s scared of having his heart broken again.

He’d much rather tend his horse ranch.

But, when he meets her at the store, he can’t get over the ‘coincidence’ of their meeting and can’t get her out of his head.

Spending the holidays with his friends next door, he gets to know her a little better, but still holds out.

That’s when something happens, changing his life.

But, he’s still too stubborn to accept the love he deserves.

This is a short Montana sweet romance novella for anyone wanting a quick holiday read.

After writing this little diddly, I kinda want to get into writing full-length Montana romance novels. Hmmm…

I guess we’ll see where my writing adventures take me!

There is still so much to write! And the ideas keep piling up.

I think the hardest part about writing is when a new story idea pops into your head and you want to stop writing the work-in-progress you have just to explore a little in the new world.

But, a professional author is ready for these interruptions. He writes down notes for these new ideas and stores them away so he’s not cheating on his WIP, but also doesn’t forget the cool ideas for later.

Today is a Special Day with a New Revamp

I’m announcing the start of a new series.

By John Irvin

Click through to watch today’s YouTube episode announcing the start of what I’m calling my 90-Day Author’s Assault.

Although this is a short blog today, I’m excited to share the news with you. For the past month, I’ve been working on a host of episodes for my John Irvin, Author Journey series.

For the first thirty days, I’ll be sharing short book trailers for my own works. There will probably be more than thirty by the end of it, because I’m still publishing more books even as this blog comes out!

After that, I have sixty days to share the works of so many of my fellow authors. I’ve already reached out to several author friends I’ve gotten to know over these past couple of years. Some of them are new authors, some have been doing this official authorpreneur business longer than I have.

I’m so excited to share all of this with you.

Although, you just might get tired of seeing me on all your social networks because I’m going to be sharing these posts every single day on every single network.

This is devotion. This is commitment. This is probably also a little crazy.

But crazy keeps the world going round.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what my author friends will be filming for their trailers I’ll be sharing later.

Also, this will run 90 days, which means, it’s going to charge into the New Year of 2021!

Hopefully, the visibility this could bring for my author friends and myself, we’ll be able to have an amazing launch of the New Year for our works.

I do know one thing. Every single episode, I’ll be sharing my team’s GoFundMe fundraiser for the Book Tour in Spring 2021. So, if it doesn’t get on people’s nerves, we’ll probably get better donations then.

And if you know any authors, please, have them shoot me an email at john@johnirvinauthor.com. I have plenty of spots open for the episodes!
